Brigette DePape supports the Canadian Boat to Gaza

Boat to Gaza

The Canadian Boat to Gaza has been endorsed by Brigette DePape, the Senate page who protested the Speech from the Throne earlier this month, making a call for creative civil disobedience to “Stop Harper”. Here are Brigette’s words of solidarity for the Tahrir.

“To all those on board the Tahrir boat to Gaza: thank you. As you send supplies across the sea, you send the world a message that can no longer be ignored — that the siege of Gaza must end. And as you set sail to work in solidarity with Palestinians to break this siege, your ship transports hope and possibility. The Harper government is failing us and a nation under occupation. But like the Egyptians of Tahrir Square who started a revolution, you show us where true power lies — in the hands of the people when they are committed and fearless.”

Canadian Boat to Gaza

Thanks to Liz (my fb friend) for this, showing once again how one little 21 year old is trying to do her part in making a difference in this world. Maybe more of us should try also, hey?

This brave young woman has more balls than most men (women) I know… with the exception, of course, of Gail Sygutek. :-)

Maybe we could get Brigette to jump on board and help us with the Crowsnest Economic Task Force Report implementation. She seems to be an expert in quite a few things at 21 years of age.

  2. John Prince says:

    Jose, something to think about…

“Every generation imagines itself to be more intelligent than the one that went before it, and wiser than the one that comes after it.”

…and some said that the “Brigette Moment” had past. Obviously not. Good luck to those on the ship….and be safe !

    Double courage!!!

John, I know you probably won’t post this, because you’ve already declared that you only want to hear opinions that coincide with yours — it’s your blog and I accept that’s your right. However, here are my thoughts on Brigette. She is typical of thousands of students that our universities are producing. They have all taken the same lefty artsy courses, and have heard the same lefty and anti-semetic sermons from lefty professors. There really is nothing special or unique about what she is spouting, and the only reason any one is listening is because of the immature stunt she pulled off in the Senate chamber. If you want a reasoned debate about Gaza let’s have it. But spare us the endless quotes from this lefty bot.

I never said no such thing. What I said is don’t waste your time or mind telling me what a great guy Harper is because I’m not buying. That’s what I said.

You are entitled to your opinion on this matter (or any other matter for that matter), just like anybody else, even if it entails generalization based on nothing more than pure supposition which is what you have presented here. I can’t help you from being who you are, only you can help yourself from living a lie based on ignorance.

I find it hilarious and typical of people like you who somehow equate supporting a boat filled with much needed supplies for people who for over 60 years have been subjected to a vicious and violent Apartheid state, as being anti-semitic?

It is you I think who need to spare us this type of ‘conservative’ drivel.

    @ anonyomous
and your righty neo-con pro-semitic comments are special because of what? lack of university education?
there is nothing special about spouting more pro-israeli crap either
What-ever the political realities or illusions on either side the “i hate you so much i will imprison and starve your wife, your children, your dog for the transgression of being” is beyond human comprehension; tho pretty white north-american if you consider the natives.
There are 160 edicts in the bible to feed the poor and none to starve them.

    WOW!!! Thank you!

There is something going on here that I truly don’t understand. You did give the impression that you didn’t want anyone posting on your blog that didn’t agree with you. Then, when someone challenged you, and you did post a comment, you tried totally to trash that person, who did have a valid point to make. As it would happen, I totally agree with that person. This silly little girl is an unfortunate product of a “liberal” education which has made her feel enititled to disrespect her position as a page in the Senate. She should be spanked, and I am surprised that any “educated” and sensible person would take her seriously.

First, you are one and the same person as Anon @10:57 i.e. 24.64.165. Second, reread Anon @12:08. Third, I’m not interested in having you waste my time because you can’t understand and/or just want to play games. Please go elsewhere for that. Bye! Bye!

  11. Anonymous says:

Seems you’ve taken her seriously? So much so that you’ve completely jumped over John’s previous post (Mel Hurtig – The Truth About Canada). What’s that say about you and your priorities?

    Right on 8:18!

Ya, the HarperCONS think its okay to stand by and do nothing while their country is being sold out, but have a young girl stand up silently with a sign in protest and they are ready to go to war! What a bunch of cowards, losers and traitors… scum of the earth, aren’t you?

John, this is Anonymous June 24, 10:37
AM here — not Anonymous June 24, 10:54PM. A smart guy like you should know that posts made from networked computers will show the same IP Address. All this shows is that everyone in this house disagrees with just about everything you post. Having tried unsuccessfully to engage you in meaningful discussion, it has become painfully clear that it is not possible. Despite your claim to the contrary (and what’s with the double negative), you are only interested in hearing from people that agree with you, and I am obviously not one of them. So I have to agree, “bye bye” is the operative expression here. In closing, all I can say is thank god the people of the Crowsnest Pass were smart enough not to choose you as Mayor.

  14. John Prince says:

Ah, now we have gotten to the real gist of why you have come here in the first place, and that is to once again insult the blogger who as you say you don’t agree with on anything but nevertheless insist on coming here daily as the trolls you people are at the ‘rag’. Which is “thank god the people of the Crowsnest Pass were smart enough not to choose you as Mayor”. Still seeking justification and vindication for your group effort on smearing me every chance you got during (and before) the election campaign, are you? Conscience bothering you? All you’ve done is weakened a community, which is all you people have ever done for it. Once again, you have proven you are nothing but low life ‘gutter trash’ and a ‘pox’ on this community.

btw/ you wouldn’t know what ‘meaningful discussion’ is even if you tripped over it as evidenced by your comments here once again on this post… which by the way was on Brigette DePape’s support for the Canadian boat to Gaza.

Bye Bye, over and out! And good riddance to you and your kind who fit right in with the HarperCONS!!!

    Hi John,
I wish you would let me insult those rejects of our society on your blog that don’t agree with Brigette Depape for her peaceful protest at the right place for the whole world to see the truth. What would they prefer? Somebody like Lortie with a machine gun AK47 and let them have it?
    -Fred Poirier

  16. John Prince says:

Right on Fred, you hit the nail right on the head. :-) These people are nothing but losers whose only success has been to keep this community down. Change will only come here when the local coffee crowds stop giving them a forum to perpetuate their hate and misinformation. Until then, those of us who know, know not to give them the time of day. In this regard, the only reason I posted their comments again after granting amnesty to this gang is to let them, once again, show their true colours while falling into their own trap… the stupid fools! :-) lol!

  18. peter rosner says:

I am definetely not a liberal or a conservative. That being said i can fully understand the challenges any ruling party would have running this country and dealing with foreign policy. This young lady seems to be firm in her beliefs and has chosen to make her points at the right opportunity. I would say her decisions have been very effective. Why are we questioning her actions when we have allowed a separist party to sit in parliament and feed at the public trough. Seems like a double standard to me

  20. Jose says:

John, not much news now that the Cdn boat is stuck in Greece. One thing that confuses me is why do the proponents not pay a visit Mrs Arafat in Paris or the French Riviera, and try to recover some of the $2 BILLION or so dollars that Yassar Arafat stole from the Palestinian people while he was in power. It is no wonder that the Palestinian people are destitute. It’s not up to Israel to support them.

Blaming only the Israelis for Palestine’s woes is unfair. The Hamas has gained influence by helping the Palestinian people, but their motive is to control the area on behalf of Iran. They could care less about Palestine or its people; it’s the real estate they want.

The only way that the situation will be resolved is when a mushroom cloud rises from somewhere in the area. Don’t know who’ll win, and don’t really much care. There really is no solution to the problem, but it will put an end to the failed experiment that the USA has been supporting for the last 55 years.

Tired of supporting both sides, and being unduly influenced by APAC and their sorts, as well as the Islamic/Muslim apologists.

  21. John Prince says:

Jose, don’t know much about Mrs Arafat but I do know that it may not be incumbent for Israel to support the Palestinian people as you say, but it is equally true that they should not be suppressing them either. Palestine is no different than what South Africa was until recently, an apartheid state, pure and simple.

I think you forget Hamas was democratically elected. There is no getting around that no matter how the west so desperately wants to.

You might be right on your mushroom cloud scenario, however keep in mind that in that region of the world only Israel has nuclear weapons, so it is a pretty good guess on how that one will play out, isn’t it?

The Rothchild/Balfour Declaration was the biggest mistake the west ever made and it is not only the Palestinians who have suffered as a result but the world as a whole will live to regret the monster they have created, as it is becoming abundantly clear to many already. With the ‘chosen ones’ having nuclear weapons while controlling the purse strings and the propaganda machines (msm) of nations around the world what is to stop world wage and debt slavery and the inevitable Armageddon that is sure to come as a result?
