…. and it isn’t a game.
Rape is not a game
In the blockbuster movie Thelma & Louise that deals in part with a potential rape there is a memorable quote “In the future, when a woman is crying like that, she isn’t having any fun.” This line says it all.
In this week’s Pass Herald in the column written by S.C. Rudegan titled Who’s in charge is one woman’s perspective on the culture of rape in modern society. Its worth a read for mind blowing statistics and shock value alone, never mine a much needed wake up call to the horrors many people confront on a daily basis.
“I am shocked, dismayed and physically ill by the same horrors that haunted me as a twenty-year old. Cruelty to animals, spousal abuse, the assault on children’s gentle souls. And rape. The taking of what is most precious and intimate by force.”
In a real dark night of the soul it is always three o’clock in the morning, day after day.
