VIDEO: Ensuring seniors are given the respect they deserve

NDP standing up for seniors

As with the previous Green Party video I posted yesterday, and in the interest of re-enforcing our ABC’s (Anybody but Conservatives), here is one from Jack.

Considering the high proportion of seniors living here in the Pass one would think that finally here is a party that has their interests at heart, and not solely those of the big banks and corporations, which is what the Reformatories priorities are all about.

NDP working to give seniors the respect they deserve.

This time I’m voting Jack Layton

I can’t understand why people are frightened of new ideas. I’m frightened of the old ones.

When a country places its Seniors on the backburner to live in near poverty, and at the same time gives assistance to immigrants and able bodied young people who have not paid their dues to the Country, something is wrong with the moral structure of Canada. This is regardless of what Party is in charge.

Where are the Representatives that work for their constituents. At the same time they ignore the constituents, they vote themselves generous Pensions and Health and other Benefits, even after “serving the people” for just a few terms. Total disconnect with Ottawa LaLaLand and the rest of the Country.

So why don’t I even know who is running here for the NDP’s. (Could same the same for the Liberals and Green) Why doesn’t Jack come and campaign here? Why don’t the leaders at least try?

And, while I’m here, what has Menzies done for the Pass? Is he helping attract light industry? Would he help us get funds for an indoor rec centre? (I really want an indoor pool)

As a rural community, does it even matter what party represents us? I think we get the shaft regardless.

Thank you all for your comments. Jose, you’re right on the money, as usual.

As I have stated before. All elections in Alberta, whether they be municipal, provincial or federal elections are all rigged in favour of the conservatives.
Take our last federal election where Menzies won by out spending his rivals in the neighbourhood of more than 3-1. The combined expenditures for the Liberals, NDP and Greens were $15,311, whereas conservative Menzies on his own spent $47,418.
Is it any wonder people are apathetic, neither voting or running, when the odds are stacked against you?

Only conservatives would call what we have here a democracy. A farce is more like it.

Yes, my friend, we are getting the shaft. And that trend will continue so long as people sit on their ass and don’t do anything about anything… but complain. Not surprizing when you think about it in that this community is typical in that we shoot those who stand up and promote those whose only claim to fame is they come from a respectable family having money and connections but no fire in the belly to actually make a positive difference for people living here and elsewhere. With these people it’s always just about them. That’s all.
