At the K-Days Premier’s Breakfast at the Alberta Legislature, activist Mikayla Resists confronted Premier Danielle Smith over her decision to platform alt‑right figures and Alberta separatists. When Alberta Sheriffs dragged her away, she screamed a line that would echo across the province: “F*ck your fascist pancakes!”
Within days, the phrase had gone viral. Federal NDP MP Heather McPherson posted a video holding a mug emblazoned with the slogan while Joan Jett’s Bad Reputation played in the background. Alberta NDP MLA Janis Irwin referenced it in a community pancake breakfast post, writing: “Free pancakes in our community! Regular pancakes only, no fascist pancakes here.”
